Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, a Mexican-American sportscaster. She currently works as an ESPN sportscaster. ESPN, working as anchor for SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. She was hired by ESPN in the year 2016. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a journalist on television. Antonietta Collins was bilingual since the age of nine years old. It was a helpful talent that enabled her to get her first job working as an assistant to the producer with Univision in Miami and provided her with the opportunity to work with the producers of national shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Her first job was as a reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. She moved in 2009 into Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as a news reporter for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. The stories she covered were about illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking across both Texas as well as Mexico. She would also fill in occasionally as a weather and sport anchor. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's station affiliated with Dallas. There she had more duties. She created pieces for Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason Finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was host of on the regional Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She was promoted to sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. In the same role as the show's magazine Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collin's parents originally hail from Veracruz Mexico. Eventually, they settled in Mexico City and she was born there on the 22nd of November, 1985. There is an older sister. In 1992, the family settled in Miami following the move out of Mexico into the US. In 1992, her parents divorced soon after. In 1995, she remarried Fabio Fajardo who was naval engineer, who passed away in 2006 from kidney cancer. The couple stayed in Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer in which she was given the opportunity of a job. Antonietta was just graduating from high school but already knew the things she wanted to accomplish. She discovered that she was a fan of the campus and that the school had the program she desired. Following her graduation from her high school education, she chose to attend the University with a major with Media Studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the WRMU's 91.1FM station, where she was employed over the years, became her friend. The professor encouraged her to believe in herself and was greatly moved by his enthusiasm for journalism.
